After graduating from the University of Missouri-Columbia Journalism School with an advertising major, I enjoyed a successful career as a copywriter in Chicago, boomeranging back to Columbia, Mo., in early 2013.
Since hanging up my hat in the Windy City I have deftly donned many hats here in The Show-Me State; most recently as as a content creator with Zimmer Communications, as well as associate editor of its publication, Inside Columbia magazine.
It’s now time for my next hat. Or, feather in my cap.
My skill set is quite broad. I’m:
Capable & comfortable writing across all forms of media
Adept at adopting diverse brand voices
A proven creative problem solver, conceptor & skilled presenter (I have sung a cappella and crowed like a rooster to sell spots!)
Proficient in Word, Wordpress, Mailchimp, Marketvolt, Squarespace, Basecamp, Google Docs, Maghub, vCreative & AP style
When not writing, I enjoy other creative pursuits such as sewing, gardening, arranging flowers, cooking and MacGyvering projects around my house and my 3.2-acre property.
I also like to chill with family and friends, practice yoga, dance like no one’s watching and hike on Columbia’s many scenic trails with my West Highland Terrier puppy Birdie.
Oh. And Scrabble. I’m always game to play the old school board version. But be warned: I just might take you down a Peg or two.
